Too Much Socks and Violence on TV

A particularly bad TV movie (Flood) enabled me to knit quite a lot of Connection, aided and abetted by Robert Carlyle- I was hypnotised by its awfulness!! I really liked Connection. The pattern was a bit vague but I wrote it out to make sense for me, and did the short row sections on needles 1, 3, 2 and then 4. I did 3 repeats and the heel and even started on the foot. Then I tried it on. I could not bear the uneven knobbliness the short row 'Knit 2 Loops together created. Could not bear it!!! So, there has been a DisConnection. Vale Connection. I think it is a great pattern and I love the effect, but I don't like the feel of the pattern on my feet. The wool is beautiful. I can see a place for other striped confectionery colours: Violet Crumble, Cherry Ripe, Liquorice Allsorts, Snack, etc!!! I think I might just knit it up in all its stripy glory as a plain stocking stitch sock. Unless there are any suggestions????

Now I have started Henry VIII. Henry is rumoured to have written GreenSleeves and these are green sleeves for a friend's foot, so there you go. I knitted a simple lace down the centre of each needle and I am going to put lace sections down the top of the foot that are stepped, to give a point shape. I am using Katt's Wool. It is beautifully dyed and easy to knit, nice and soft.

My mum's The Word socks continue at a slower pace... Re 'the jog' there are solutions if you Google, like knitting into the row below when you get to the place of 'the jog'. My problem is one of Symmetry and stitch organisation.
PS There was no violence involved in the DisConnection. I was very calm!!!

Oh, I'm so sorry the pattern didn't work out - I was planning on trying it too! Love the idea for the confectionary colours!

Bugger about the Connection pattern. I rather loved how that striping was working out!

Greensleeves is beautiful, and I reckon you can't go wrong with yarn that looks like kermit (I love green and I adore frogs!)
