Fledgling triumphs!

I have finished my first pair of socks!!

Strictly speaking, these were not both knit in October. It took me a long time to cast on the second one, but when I did, I finished it in a few days. Now I have a pair of handknit socks!! I used handspun wool (not mine) and a basic sock pattern from the Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook (a wonderful book - highly recommended).

I found the second sock a lot quicker and easier to knit. However, I still had these holey gaps between the heel and the body of the sock - which I will now have to darn. Any tips on avoiding these?

Thanks for this blog - all the beautiful pictures really inspired me to cast on that second one!
