Making progress
Hi,
Here's where I've got to with my first pair of socks. They are based on the 4 stitch rib sock in Sensational Knitted Socks and I'm knitting them for DH. The yarn is Sheldridge Farm Soft Touch which is a 100% wool and quite thick, thicker than 4 ply. It's lovely to knit though, has that real woolly feel and is not slippery like the sock yarns with nylon in them. Has anyone got any hints for strengthening the heels of pure wool socks. I thought of using polyester sewing thread.

Not sure what is best to use for the heels, I made my first pair of socks with 100% wool and my husband has worn them quite a bit with not much heel wear (yet, anyway!). But polyester thread sounds about right, I guess!
