one of my Triple S challenges was to knit lace socks. i finished some waving laces a while ago and i tried to knit something 'normal' after that but was quickly bored. i spent a long time messing around trying to find the right pattern and needles for some gorgeous lana grossa cotton someone bought me from germany, given that it is actually summer here and cotton seemed to make sense. i finally settled on the Vog On Pattern from knitty.
this is the result:
yarn: lana grossa meilenweit cotton fun
needles: knitpicks dpns 3mm
amendments: the pattern says to knit these over 4 x 2.75mm needles but i didnt have any that size and i cant hold 4 needles all at once! so i used my 3mm needles and just cast on for the smaller size (56 stitches) which i distributed over 3 needles (14-28-14). the lace repeat was over 7 stitches, and this method seemed to work fine.
comments: the picot cast on is hard and the way the yarn is plied makes fixing mistakes difficult, but otherwise these were seriously easy and took less than a week to make two! also, it only took half a ball, so i can make another pair.
now i need to buy new shoes to show them off. what a shame!
happy new year everyone :)
kms xx

I think this is a great pattern for this yarn - glad you found the right one and good on you for keeping on trying!
